Volunteers
We need your support
Whether you volunteer for one day or for life, you can make a direct impact on the lives of Washington young people. We welcome new volunteers to help us inspire problem solvers to create a better future.
Work directly with students in your area
We always put our students first and place their needs and interests above all else. These roles help ensure that together we deliver great student experiences.
Work behind the scenes to help students learn
Many of our more flexible roles do require some specialized knowledge and skills. With each position, you help many students learn, grow, and prepare for the future.

I am a software engineer at Microsoft, working as part of its big data cybersecurity team to build products that protect individuals and enterprises. Outside of that, I am an active Global Issues and Scenario Writing evaluator for the California affiliate, and evaluate internationally as well. It is always a gratifying experience to be able to give back to the Future Problem Solving community.

I learned about leadership through the herding and managing of eight wiggly fourth and fifth graders. Over the last three years coaching a diverse set of kids, I have learned just as much from my kids as they have learned from me, and these are lessons I will carry with me to my future endeavors.

I love the evaluation process. It reminds me of how capable young people can be when they are challenged with interesting and meaningful tasks that push their limits and relate to topics and issues that are important and intriguing to them. It also challenges me to give them feedback that values their contributions, while hoping to stimulate further growth and discernment for their future endeavors.
